Private School Teachers will receive Ebola Trust Fund Salary

The Government of Liberia through the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning declares that resources have been secured through the Ebola Trust Fund to underwrite the cost of one-off payments to private school teachers.
According to a Ministry of Finance and Development Planning (MFDP) release, all Private Schools are required to have accurate Personnel Payrolls Records for April 2014 and May 2014, and that of April 2015 and May 2015 at their institutions as auditors from the Internal Audit Agency (IAA), will visit schools premises anytime during the payment period.

The release indicated that several measures are being instituted to serve as strict guiding principles under which payments will be made to individual instructor.

Payment to all categories of Private Schools Teachers will be based on qualification, teachers will NOT be paid double irrespective of the number of schools they are teaching, and payment will be done on the basis of equity across all schools during this current school year.

The release noted that upon meeting the requirements mentioned above, beneficiary will received the following payments: Below High School – L$ 3,500.00, High School Graduate - L$5,000.00, C Certificate - L$5,500.00, B Certificate - L$7,000.00, A Certificate/ AA Degree - L$8,500.00, Bachelor’s Degree - L$10,000.00, Master’s Degree - L$12,500.00 and PhD - L$13,000.00.

The above-mentioned criteria were jointly decided by a technical working group comprising heads of the various school systems, Ministry of Education, and the National Principals Association of Liberia.

Payments will begin on Tuesday, August 25, 2015 across the length and breadth of Liberia. All payments will be made by Ecobank directly to beneficiaries over-the-counter.
