Monrovia, Liberia - The Ministry of Finance and Development Planning (MFDP) has announced several new measures aimed at improving working conditions at the Ministry.
During a staff meeting on Friday, June 28, 2024, Finance Minister Bioma S. Kamara urged the staff to foster a sense of mutual respect and care for one another as senior management works to enhance their benefits.
Minister Kamara disclosed the reintroduction of personal staff insurance and the provision of four additional buses meant to transport staff to work.
The Minister of Finance and Development Planning also mentioned that renovation works have started at the Ministry, including the refurbishment of bathrooms, the installation of air conditioning, and the placement of running water throughout the building housing the Ministry. All of these, he said, are being done to provide a conducive working environment for staff.
Hon. Kamara asserted that staff will be promoted from within based on the level of performance exhibited on the job while at the same time announcing vacancies for Director and Assistant Director for the MFDP’s Procurement Unit and the Comptroller of the Budget and Finance Unit.
Minister Kamara said employees within the Ministry who are qualified, more robust, competent, and meet the right criteria will be recruited internally for those positions based on the senior management recruitment process.
The MFDP boss told staff that hard-working staff across all departments and units will be recognized at the end of each month.
This initiative, Minister Kamara insisted, aims to motivate employees whose work demonstrates results that contribute to the advancement of the national development agenda (ARREST Agenda for Inclusive Development).
The regular staff meeting initiated under the leadership of Kamara is to motivate workers at the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning and provide regular updates. Several staff members and members of the senior management team attended Friday’s staff meeting.
Monrovia, Liberia - Finance and Development Planning Minister Hon. Augustine Kpehe Ngafuan says the ultimate goal of the ARREST Agenda for Inclusive Development is to improve the economic and human development indicators of the people.
